On 29th August, within the framework of the project "Capacity Building for LIFE program implementation in Latvia" (CAP LIFE LAT) the fourth meeting of current LIFE program projects in Latvia was held.
In the first part of the event, the participants took a tour of the area of the LIFE Programme project CoHaBit (“Coastal Habitats Protection in the Natural Park Maritime”). During the course of the tour, the participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the area of Mangaļsala nature park and the development and conservation work carried out in it. During the tour, the LIFE CoHaBit representative showed the participants the actions taken to protect the habitats
In the second part of the event, representatives of Latvia's LIFE projects presented their projects, discussed their progress during the year, and future plans. During the presentations, participants took the opportunity to share with each other the experience gained in the implementation of the European Commission's LIFE Programme projects in Latvia.
Following the individual LIFE project presentations, discussions were conducted during which best practices were shared, including major challenges and challenges faced by project promoters of the LIFE Programme, as well as topical topics such as national funding.
At the begining of November a similar meeting in Baltic scale will be held, thus making Latvian projects share their experience with colleagues from other Baltic states.
