Integrated projects are large-scale projects that ensure the full implementation of key environmental and climate policy documents in a specific region within the EU and contribute to better integration of environmental policy objectives into other policy areas. These projects are characterised by a multi-sectoral approach, a long-term view, a broad range of partners involved, as well as extensive geographical coverage. Their implementation requires the attraction of other sources of European Union financial instruments, public or private funding. The main objective of the integrated project is the full implementation of the specific strategy or action plan, involving all sectors and stakeholders.
