Nordic- Baltic LIFE Platform meeting successfully concludes
From September 16 to 18 this year, the annual Nordic and Baltic LIFE Project Networking Event took place in Latvia. The meeting brought together more than 100 participants from nearly 40 LIFE programme projects being implemented in the Baltic Sea region countries. The main goal of this year’s meeting was to share experiences on stakeholder engagement and participation in LIFE projects.

Closure of 2023 LIFE Call for Environmental, Nature, and Climate Projects
The application window for the 2023 LIFE Program's Environmental, Nature, and Climate project call came to a close on September 21st of this year. In total, 22 organizations from Latvia participated in this year's call, and the number of Climate project submissions is yet to be confirmed, potentially increasing the overall count of Latvian applicants.

LIFE programme is celebrating its 30th anniversary
Over the past 30 years, with the support of the LIFE programme, more than 50 environmental, nature and climate projects have been implemented in Latvia. The biggest contribution of these projects is clearly their contribution to the environment, nature and mitigating climate change, but we cannot fail to mention the economic contribution of the projects as well - an average of 33% of the total costs of each project is paid in taxes to the state budget.
